Samsung is now ready to mass produce The Wall monitors for commercial and home entertainment use, scheduled for launch in September, for hotels, stores, stadiums, museums, convention centers and luxury homes.
Han Jong-hee, president of Samsung's visual display business, said: "We have completed the development of Micro LED technology and are in the stage of increasing production."
In addition to the flagship QLED TV brand, Samsung also launched the new Micro LED brand The Wall TV for the high-end large market. In addition, Samsung hopes that the industry will call The Wall a monitor or screen - not a TV.
Thanks to its borderless modular design, The Wall does not have the same size as other TVs. The user can determine the appearance by selecting the number of display units, and finally adjust the display size to the ideal state.
Han said that the upcoming version of The Wall's home version will reach 30 mm or less and will be called a "luxury" for home entertainment.
Yoo Ho-sun, vice president of Samsung's visual display business, said: "Since Samsung's proprietary advanced flip chip bonding technology will be used, Samsung's Micro LED display will be completely different from previous LED products." In addition, for a 4K Micro LED TV, 24 million LEDs are required, and four such TVs require a total of 100 million LEDs.
According to Samsung officials, due to Samsung's innovative chip structure technology, its Micro LED display has a lifetime of approximately 100,000 hours, far exceeding the life of its competitor OLED display.
